Across the gaming landscape, fans keep sounding the knell for the green team. The platform was lately surpassed in sales by a lesser-known competitor. Platform-specific outlets are now publishing content regarding Sony's platform as a new development. Last year proved to be an era of significant turmoil for the Xbox ecosystem. However, judging purely by the upcoming Game Pass lineup in 2026, it becomes clear that Xbox continues to plan to attract subscribers with strong games on its flagship service.
The two games you can play right now today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, are not the headliners. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's deserving of attention.
On Jan. 13, Game Pass will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, a sprawling adventure that breaks up the standard Ubisoft formula with a cosmic robbery tale. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, hailed in past assessments as "an ideal blend of frights and fights."
But even the smaller games set to join the catalog are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler that's a blast to play, arrives January 7th — and it merits a playthrough even if you missed out on the first Lost in Random game.
This UK-developed survival title from last year might get its hooks in you in about 15 minutes flat.
Atomfall, the stealth survival game by the developers behind Sniper Elite, is also a game to check out. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to anticipate.
In summary, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, and they are also not massive exclusive blockbusters that are the sole reason for the service in the first place. But Microsoft's additions here are exceptionally strong. There's a good mixture of old games you might have missed and fairly new titles that didn't get the attention they were due initially — which makes them ideal prospects to find a new audience on Game Pass.
You might need to brace yourself to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, as it happens.
