Flight operations have recommenced at Edinburgh Airport following a substantial ATC system failure halted all operations.

Flights Resume with Ongoing Delays

The airport confirmed at 10:40 that flights had resumed, and thanked passengers for their "understanding and cooperation".

Nonetheless, ongoing issues are expected to continue throughout the day. Services bound for London Gatwick, Bristol, Amsterdam and Frankfurt have been cancelled, with many others subject to postponements.

An airport representative had earlier anticipated that dozens of flights could be affected.

"Travelers are urged to check directly with their airline for the most up-to-date details on their specific flights," was the consistent advice.

Source of the Issue

Officials linked the widespread suspension to an technical fault with its air traffic control provider.

Passengers continue to be advised to confirm the details of their flight before heading to the airport as residual delays are managed.
